Having love for the country is much more love for oneself, because whatever happens we benefit from the things we do. Love something and it will love you back or pretend to love something it will still love you back.
I believe that the more you give the more you can keep, for example the government, they always fix the road or make a lot of projects this is because the head of these projects gain commissions or trust of the people to earn more votes on the next election. Another is people promoting Filipino movies rather than English movies, maybe these are the cast and staffs of these movies.
There are lots of ways to benefit in showing your nationalism to your country, think of a way and surely you will succeed.

I still believe that there are some who have love for the country, take the nurses and teachers for example, despite of the high demand abroad they still work here with low pay.

i believe that nationalism may help the country to bring back its old glory but on the other hand, i think we should first start changing the mentality of the filipino people. Like your examples, most filipinos promote things not for the good of their country but for their own individual good. in simpler terms, most, nowadays, are turning to be selfish filipinos. In my opinion, if we are able to correct that then we can surely attain what "nationalism" is all about then surely success will be in our reach!

i agree. anyone can help in increasing ou nationalism it desn;t matter what your staus in life is. even the hep is just a little it affects others to contribute and if adds up it will become big.
